Hen’s Parties
At Paint Splice, we know how to throw a party! Our trendy and energetic studio is the perfect venue to gather your friends, bridesmaids, even the mother of the bride for a fun experience!
Why hold your Hen’s party with us?
Our focus is on making every event a party that everyone will enjoy! We have one of the largest paint & sip studios in Sydney, with plenty of room to paint, eat, drink, dance, chill out, play games… So unlike other venues your guests won’t be stuck in their seat for 3 hours.
Also we include a host, and an artist for all events of more than 10 people, to ensure that you get the focus needed on both the painting and the rest of the event. Also, we love what we do and are not a franchise, so if you have any ‘out of the box’ ideas for your event, chances are we’ll love to make it work for you!
How does a Paint & Sip hen’s party work?
We’ve hosted many hen’s parties, each one different! Some like to make the paint & sip event part of their day (a great option for lunchtime or afternoon) and then continue the fun afterwards since we are only 10 minutes from the city CBD. In this case, we are happy to hold on to your created artworks to be collected later.
Or you can include some Hen’s games and other fun activities to your session with us. It’s really up to you!
Do we offer off-site events – We come to you?
Yes, we also have the option of ‘we come to you’ and offer our services at your site if the space permits such activities. This will incur a small additional fee depending on your location and will still have the same painting equipment and artist/host to make sure you experience our version of Paint & Sip the best way possible.
What is the Cost?
The cost per person is $59.00 for a 3 hour private function. Discounts may apply for larger groups.
Are private events really private?
Yes, unlike other Paint & Sip companies, when you book a private event with Paint Splice you get the whole studio to yourself! Our studio isn’t like others, we aren’t a shopfront, but are located on level 2 so you get a fun, vibrant, private space for your party/event.
What about Entertainment Options?
We have entertainment options sure to make your party is a memorable one!
Make your event more fabulous with a Drag Queen to host your party. We have some of Sydney’s best Drag Artists that can to sashay into the party, bringing their charisma and charm (or sass), then shablam onto the dance floor with a lip-sync performance (or two) to bring the house down!
Looking for a spicier and cheekier option? Instead of recreating one of our paintings, how about painting a handsome male model?!? Turn your painting session into a male life painting session where you create your own painting of one of our nude male models.
How many people can join in?
Our studio can very comfortably seat up to 50 people. Yes that’s right, did we mention we are one of the largest paint & sip studios in Sydney….Check out the studio tour video below…
What about minimum numbers?
For most events, 10 attendees is the minimum for a private booking, but may be higher during peak times. If you have a smaller group, we may suggest allowing public attendees also, but don’t worry we’ll make sure your group are seated together, and the other public attendees just add to the atmosphere!
Andy, one of the staff members, reassured us that they were great with kids — so we decided to book. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing.
The female instructor, Malsi, showed no interest in engaging with the children. She was extremely task-oriented, and the kids became bored very quickly. She couldn’t read the room at all — when the children were disengaged, she just kept pushing through the activity.
One of the girls even ended up in tears because she felt left behind during the painting activity. Malai did nothing to support her, even though she clearly saw the child crying. As a parent, watching that was heartbreaking and unacceptable.
To make things worse, at the end of the session we were rushed out, told we had only 30 minutes to cut the cake, pack everything up, and leave — with 20 kids. Completely unrealistic and very stressful.
And the toilet? Overflowing with toilet paper before the party even started. Not what you expect when hosting an event for children.
Overall, this place might be okay for adults, but it is definitely not suitable for kids’ parties, especially with an instructor who clearly does not enjoy or understand working with children.
Very, very disappointing.
Please think twice before booking.
If I could give negative stars, I would.
Alex, in response to your comments, I would like to clarify several points.
Firstly, Andy did not make “four attempts” to remind me to pack up at the end of the session, as you stated. In fact, I was the one who approached him to ask whether it was time to cut the cake. At that point, I was rushed to proceed.
Regarding the toilet cleanliness, I don’t understand why this responsibility is being shifted onto me. Ensuring clean facilities before welcoming customers is a basic expectation of any business.
I was also told there would be music provided for the children, yet no music was played at all. There was no schedule breakdown for the day, and at no point during the booking process was I informed that the last 20 minutes of the session would be allocated to cake cutting.
Additionally, you mentioned there were two break periods during the session. This is incorrect. I had to personally request a break because I could clearly see the children were disengaged and the energy in the room was flat. Even then, the female instructor continued for another 10 minutes before finally stopping.
Overall, many of the explanations provided do not reflect what actually occurred on the day.
Great friendly staff
Highly recommended
